Al Cowens played 12 years in the bigs suiting up for the Kansas City Royals (1974-79), California Angels (1980), Detroit Tigers (1980-81), and Seattle Mariners (1982-86). Cowens collected 1,494 Hits, 108 Home Runs, and 717 RBI's during the course of his career. A fine defensive outfielder Cowens was awarded a Gold Glove in 1977. Cowens was a staple in the Royals line-up in the 1970's and appeared in 3 straight League Championship Series (1976-78). This jersey dates to the 1987 season while Cowens was acting as a scout and extra coach for the Kansas City Royals during Spring Training. The jersey shows moderate wear and is appropriately tagged for the part of the year that it was issued. Cowens has personalized and signed the front of the jersey as well as dating it '87.
