Lou Piniella played 16 years in the majors taking the field for the Baltimore Orioles (1964), Cleveland Indians (1968), Kansas City Royals (1969-73), and New York Yankees (1974-84). Piniella collected 1,705 Hits, 102 home Runs, and 766 RBI's in his career. Piniella collected his first hit as well as the first hit in Kansas City Royals history on April 8th 1969. Piniella went on to win the A.L. Rookie of the Year award in 1969. Piniella was named to the 1972 A.L. All-Star team and played on 2 World Series Championship teams with the New York Yankees in 1977 & 1978. Following his playing career "Sweet Lou" posted a very impressive career as a Manager winning 1 World Series and 3 Manager of the Year Awards (2 N.L. & 1 A.L.). This bat hails from his days in Kansas City and specifically his 1969 ROY season. The bat is un-cracked and shows light use. Tough to find rookie year example!!! PSA letter accompanies this bat
