Dick Howser played 8 seasons in the majors taking the field for the Kansas City A's (1961-63), Cleveland Indians (1963-66), and New York Yankees ( 1967-68). Howser's rookie season saw him named to the 1961 All-Star team. Howser's best days in baseball came after his playing career as a coach and Manager with the New a York Yankees and Kansas City Royals. Howser Managed for 7 seasons never finishing worse than 2nd. Howser led the Kansas City Royals to a 1985 World Series Title the franchises only one as to date. Tragically Howser passed away June 17, 1987 due to a brain tumor at age 51. This bat shows nice use and has several small nails in the oval end label of the bat. Great bat from this former skipper and Royal favorite!!! PSA letter accompanies this lot.
