Bobby Shantz played 16 years in the bigs taking the mound for the A's (1949-56), Yankees (1957-60), Pirates (1961), Colt .45's (1962), Cardinals (1962-64), Cubs (1964), and Phillies (1964). Shantz had a career 119-92 record with 48 Saves and a 3.38 ERA. Shantz was a 3 time All-Star, 1952 A.L. MVP, and 8 time Gold Glove winner. He also played for the 1958 World Series champion Yankees. Shantz wore this cap during the 1955-56 seasons while a member of the Kansas City A's. The cap shows good use and the top button is missing. Shantz player number has been written in period marker on the bill. Great cap from the A's first 2 seasons in Kansas City topped off by being worn by a former MVP!!!
