Auburn Alum Billy Hitchcock wore these pants while playing in the American Association for the Kansas City Blues. A quality infielder Hitchcock played 9 seasons in the majors occupying every infield position at one time or another during his career. Following his playing career Hitchcock managed in the Majors for the Detroit Tigers (1960), Baltimore Orioles (1962-63), and Atlanta Braves (1966-67). Hitchcock was a multi-sport star at Auburn in addition to playing on the baseball team he also was an All-Conference Tailback for the Football team (Guys from Auburn seem to like to do that). Following Auburn's renovation of it's baseball stadium in 2003 it was renamed "Hitchcock Field". These pants show nice use and hailing from Hitchcock's early years in professional baseball are quite rare. Fantastic collectable from a man who succeeded in all aspects of baseball!!!! LOA from jersey expert Dave Miedema accompanies this lot.
