Stan Hack played 16 seasons in the majors all with the Chicago Cubs (1932-47). A slick fielding and hard hitting 3rd baseman Hack participated in 4 All-Star games (1938-39,41,& 43) as well as 4 World Series (1932,35,38,& 45) during his career. A lifetime .301 hitter Hack also collected 2,193 hits, 57 homers, and 642 RBI's while maintaining .959 fielding percentage. Hack was one of the premier 3rd baseman of his time and Game-Used items of his rarely appear on the secondary market. Hack shared his days on the Cubs infield with 2nd baseman Billy Herman and as one might expect from 2 hitters who had similar styles they often shared bats. This particular bat has use characteristics that make it hard to discern whether the bat was used exclusively by Hack or if Hall Of Famer Billy Herman may have also used the bat. The bat shows great use and the hitting surface has grain separation from repeated contact. The handle was cracked at some point and repaired with several nails. Be it a Hack or a Herman the bat is certainly a fantastic example from the Chicago Cubs Glory years of the 1930's!!! Full PSA Letter accompanies this lot
