Billy Herman played 15 years in the majors garnering 10 All-Star nominations along the way. Viewed as one of the games premier 2nd basemen Herman was a member of 4 N.L. Pennant Winners (Cubs 1932,35,38 & Dodgers 1941). Herman collected 2,345 career hits with a career .304 lifetime batting average. Named to the Hall Of Fame in 1975 Herman gamers are difficult to come by and this one shows outstanding use. Dating to the 1933-34 seasons this is one of the earliest Herman gamers to be offered at auction as well as just the 4th one to be authenticated by PSA. The handle was cracked and at some point repaired by several nails. The barrel has checking from repeated contact and the handle shows signs of having been taped. Certain to fill a void in an advanced Hall of Fame collectors bat rack this is a tough to find gamer!!! PSA letter accompanies this lot.
