Dane Iorg played 10 years in the big leagues for the Phillies (1977), Cardinals (1977-84), Royals (1984-85), and Padres (1986). Iorg collected 455 hits, 14 Home Runs, and 216 RBI during his career. Iorg played most of his career as a platoon or bench player. Although his career numbers are not overly impressive you would be hard pressed to find a player that suceeded more in big games. Iorg played for 2 World Series Championship teams (1982 Cardinals & 1985 Royals). In the 1982 series Iorg batted .529 (9 for 17) with 4 Runs scored and an RBI. In the 1985 series Iorg batted .500 (1 for 2) with 2 RBI which were the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the 9th in game 6. This lot contains both a 1985 World Series ball signed by Iorg with the inscription "9th Inning Hit" and a signed 1982 Topps card. Very nice signed lot!
