1961 was a magical season in New York as the country watched both Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris chase Yankee legend Babe Ruth's single season Home Run record. Maris would eventually match and eclipse Ruth's number and the Yankees concluded the season with yet another World Series title. This evenly toned Cronin ball has been signed by 26 members of the fabled 1961 team highlighted by Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra on the Sweet Spot while Roger Maris, Elston Howard, Clete Boyer, Tony Kubek, Whitey Ford, and others don the additional panels. Ralph Houk appears to be of the clubhouse variety but other than this exclusion a very complete and desirable team signed ball of Yankee lore!! PSA letter accompanies this lot.
