Dick Howser's signature rests on the barrel of this Jerry Lumpe Game Used Bat. A Kansas City A's fan favorite Lumpe enjoyed a productive career as a sure handed 2nd baseman. While Lumpe was manning the center infield in Kansas City with Dick Howser this bat was pulled from Lumpe's arsenal. The bat was then sawed in 1/2 lengthwise and signed by Howser. Fantastic piece from these 2 favored sons of Kansas City baseball. Howsers best days in baseball came after his playing career as a coach and Manager with the New a York Yankees and Kansas City Royals. Howser Managed for 7 seasons never finishing worse than 2nd. Howser led the Kansas City Royals to a 1985 World Series Title. Tragically Howser passed away June 17, 1987 due to a brain tumor at age 51. Great dual KC piece!!
