The 1956 Yankees finished 97-57 clinching there 22nd pennant and earning a birth in the World Series vs. the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Yankees defeated the Dodgers 4-3 in a series that saw Don Larson pitch the only perfect game in World Series history. The 1956 season also saw Mickey Mantle capture both the Triple Crown as well as the MVP award. This Harridge ball has been signed by 28 members of that great 1956 team. Mantle and Berra grace the sweet spot while the side panels are covered by Yankee legends such as Bill Dickey, Billy Martin, Phil Rizzuto, Casey Stengel, Whitey Ford X2, Don Larson, Elston Howard, and others. The ball has some overall condition issues due to toning or light shellack however the signatures themselves display quite wonderfully. Great vintage Championship Yankee Ball devoid of any clubhouse signatures!!!! Truly a great ball!!! PSA letter accompanies this lot.
