Yogi Berra played for 19 years in the Majors all in New York (Yankees 1946-63 & Mets 1965). Berra collected 2,150 hits, 358 Home Runs, and 1,430 Rbi's during his career. Berra was named to the All-Star team 14 times and was named league MVP 3 times (51,54,& 55). The before mentioned makes it easy to understand why he was elected to the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1972. Beyond his offensive ability Berra also possessed world class defensive skills. An important part of the Yankee dynasty Berra is a man with more Rings than fingers. Berra enjoyed success as both a Major League coach and Skipper following his playing career mostly once again taking place in Gotham City. This bat hails from the 1955-59 period placing it in Berra's hands in the heart of his illustrious career. The bat shows excellent use with several ball marks and slight checking due to repeated contact. The top of the barrel has been cracked which is what caused this bat to be retired. This era of Berra bats are scarce to come by and this R43 stick shows great use making it a fine example!!! Full PSA Letter accompanies this bat.
