Pepper Martin enjoyed a 13 year career with the St. Louis Cardinals. Martin was named to 4 All-Star Games and helped the Cardinals win 2 World Series Championships (1931,1934). Martin played baseball at full throttle and his spirited play was a catalyst for some great St. Louis Cardinal teams. This bat was given as a gift of appreciation by Pepper Martin to Dempster Godlove preceding the conclusion of "Pepper Martin Day" held on June 18 1939. The bat displays wonderfully processing a warm patina and great eye appeal!!! Great bat that can be attributed to an important day for both the St.Louis Cardinal organization as well as Pepper Martin!!! In addition to this great bat this lot also includes a hand written note signed by Martin attesting to gifting this bat as well as a full letter from PSA that includes a picture from Pepper Martin Day.
